Bioscience is a company specialized in the development and optimization of
protein expression processes using different yeast strains via precision
fermentation. Pioneers in Spain in the biotechnological production of
recombinant proteins, Levprot is focused on the obtention of proteins highly
linked to food.
We offer
services that include custom-made design and development of all the steps
involved in the production of enzymes and recombinant proteins in yeast cells:
strain engineering, genetic design, bioprocess development at lab and
pilot scale and downstream optimization.
Our
proteins cover a wide range of possibilities within the food industry: we
develop specific enzymes able to optimize production yields and enhance
organoleptic properties of different food products; as well as create
high-value ingredients that improve the functional characteristics and sensory
attributes of alternative meat and other animal-free products: cheese and other
dairy alternatives, bakery products. We are also progressing on the production
of animal-free growth factors needed for muscle and fat cells to grow
cultivated meat. These proteins allow a better cell proliferation leading to a
higher production yield.
